How it works

From practice round to podium

Four steps, the same for every player. The rules are published before you enter, and the scoreboard is open for anyone to follow.

  1. Step 1: Practise the format

Learn the platform and the scoring in practice rounds before anything is at stake.

  2. Step 2: Choose a tournament

Compare format, schedule, entry options and prizes. Your eligibility is confirmed for your account before you enter.

  3. Step 3: Compete on the scoreboard

Trade in a simulated market against the field. Standings update during play under the published scoring method.

  4. Step 4: Results go on the record

Final standings are published with the scoring method. Cash prizes are paid after rules checks and identity verification.

Practice

Practise first. Nothing at stake.

Practice rounds let you learn the platform, the format and the scoring before you enter a tournament. They don't award prizes, so you can try a routine, review it and try again.

In practice you can

  • Learn the platform at your own pace
  • Get to know the scoring method
  • Review every session afterwards
  • Step into a tournament when you're ready

Rankings & Results

Results you can check

Final standings are published with the scoring method, the time they were confirmed and the status of every prize.

Events data and media rules

Events use the event model: planned or confirmed status, start and end in the venue's time zone, venue, and linked tournaments. Only approved photographs with credits and alt text are used, never generated or stock images presented as WTT events. Every image is lazy-loaded below the fold. This section stays hidden on the public site until approved media exists.

FAQ

Straight answers

On money, prizes and who can take part. Anything else, our support team can help.

Is any real money traded?

No. All trading in WTT tournaments and practice is simulated with virtual balances. You never fund a trading account, and no trades are placed in real markets on your behalf.

Can I win real cash?

Some tournaments offer cash prizes. They are paid only under that tournament's published rules, to eligible players who pass identity verification. Every prize shows its status: advertised, awarded or paid.

Who can take part?

It depends on the tournament, your country, your age and your verification status, as set by WTT's published eligibility policy. Your availability is shown for your account before you enter, and entry is confirmed by WTT's systems.

What is practice for?

Practice lets you learn the platform, the format and the scoring before you enter a tournament. Practice rounds don't award prizes.

How are rankings decided?To confirm

Each tournament's rules set out its scoring method before it starts. Standings are calculated by WTT using that method, and final results are published alongside it.

When are prizes paid?

After results are confirmed and the winner completes identity verification. Payout timing is set out in each tournament's rules.

Is WTT a broker or an investment service? To confirm

No. WTT runs skill competitions on simulated markets. It doesn't offer investment advice, funded trading accounts or brokerage services, and tournament results are not a guide to real investment returns.
